Fresh off of victory and his second inauguration President Obama has seen his job approval rating soar to the highest it has been since the beginning of his first term. According to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll 60 percent of Americans approve of the job Obama is doing and 37 percent disapprove. Obama’s approval rating had been struck around 50 percent for the last few years but has increased significantly in recent months.

The Democrats’ decision to include an individual mandate to buy private insurance in the Affordable Care Act continues to seriously hurt overall support for the law. Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney are tied nationally at 30 percent each according to the latest Washington Post-ABC News poll. Ron Paul is at 15 percent and all other candidate are currently in the single digits. And Romney has now reached 30%.

Three new national polls were released this morning and all of them paint a bleak picture for President Obama. All three polls found Obama’s approval numbers in net negative territory, with large majorities disapproving of how he is handling economic issues.
