Because Americans aren’t anxious enough forced to digest anemic monthly jobs numbers, an economy teetering on the precipice, the steady stream of illegal home foreclosures, a Democratic President poised to shiv Social Security and Medicare, and the country’s insidious metamorphosis into a security state, they also have to worry about something so basic as the right to vote. That’s because über-bully Karl Rove, not content to have put the Dauphin of Dumbfuckistan in the White House, decided that controlling the Executive Branch wasn’t enough. Like his Machiavellian comrade and patron, Charles Koch, he “want[ed] his fair share–and that’s all of it.” Hey, if that means depriving American citizens of their civil rights, well, so be it. There are always going to be winners and losers, amirite? Whaddya gonna do about it?

Non-self aware Mormon cyborg Mitt Romney was in Chicago on Monday and campaign advisers got him to say “a thing that someone says to cause amusement or laughter, esp. a story with a funny punchline”. This “amusement thing ” or “joke” was about how kids these days are totally “whack” if they vote for Democrats instead of “cool hepcats” like himself and other late-middle-aged white men who can still quote lines verbatim from Caddyshack . . .

A research document going the rounds in Minnesota summarizes twelve specific actions taken by ALEC darling and voter-ID maven Mary Kiffmeyer during her time as Minnesota’s Secretary of State (1998 to 2006) that put the integrity of voting in Minnesota at risk during that time.

Every day at Occupy Supply we talk with occupations across the country who are doing amazing work. When we hear that “occupy is dead,” we know that someone is seriously ill-informed. So if you see a journalist repeating the “occupy is dead” meme, be sure to forward them this list to let them know that reports of Occupy’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. Tennessee official denied a 98-year old woman a voter ID because she couldn’t produce her marriage license. As a person living in a neighboring state where the GOP is doing its best to disenfranchise voters most likely to vote Dem, this news from Tennessee isn’t surprising, but it is disgusting.
