If Perkins wants to talk about ugly tactics and intolerant bullies, perhaps he should take another look at his organization.

Floyd Corkins, the man who attempted to shoot up the Family Research Council last year, was recently sentence to 25 years in prison, as he should be.
However, FRC and its president, Tony Perkins, continues to falsely connect Corkins to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Michelangelo Signorile has published an open letter to the Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins, challenging him to a public debate over at Huffpost or on his SiriusXM show over whether the organization deserves the hate group label.

As David Badash said over at The New Civil Rights Movement, SPLC-certified hate group leader of Family Research Council Tony Perkins learned on Thursday that “credible journalists will no longer allow him to lie about gay people, same-sex marriage, or the LGBT community on national TV anymore.”

Dr. Robert Spitzer announced plans to officially apologize to the gay community for a 2001 study he published which claimed that gays can change their sexual orientation. But anti-gay groups led by Tony Perkins and Peter Sprigg still site this recanted work on their anti-gay websites. Time to demand they recant too.
