Travis County is home to Austin, Texas and well over a million residents. The county’s district attorney, Rosemary Lehmberg was released from jail about 1am this morning after serving half of a 45-day sentence for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Texas Governor Rick Perry has decided his state will not be taking part in the Affordable Care Act. Most importantly this means Texas will not expand Medicaid to everyone under 138 percent of the poverty line. His decision could deprive over a million Texans of access to health care.
