I take Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA) at his word that an e-mail glitch caused him to be the only member of the Massachusetts congressional delegation not to sign on to the amicus brief asking the US Supreme Court to strike down Section 3 of DOMA. After all, Rep. Lynch is a co-sponsor of the Respect for Marriage Act (H.R 1116) which would repeal the federal Defense of Marriage Act.

The governor officially setting the Massachusetts special Senate election for June 25th has spurred Rep. Stephen Lynch (D) to finally make a decision. Today Lynch announced that he will run in the special election to replace John Kerry, launching his campaign with a Youtube video asking for volunteers.

The Pentagon claims that an expansion of the no-fly zone will enable them to hand off control of the mission to coalition partners, and American sorties have shrunk in the past couple days. But that has not been enough for Congress, interestingly enough. I have maintained that Congress didn’t really want the responsibility to give authorization for the action in Libya, and that they were generally happy for the White House to take the burden. But they’re not acting like that.
