According to secret emails reviewed by The Hill, some influential Democratic Party members are less than enthused about the prospect of Hillary Clinton becoming president. The Google group called “Gamechanger Salon,” hosts 1,500 Democratic Party aligned operatives in activism and media. A years worth of emails revealed “significant dissatisfaction” with Hillary Clinton.

Gasland 2 screened yesterday in Normal, IL and DeSmogBlog was there to gain a sneak peak of the documentary set for a July 8 HBO national premiere.
Josh Fox’s documentary played at the Normal Theater, the second-ever screening since the film officially premiered on April 21 at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.
The movie builds on Fox’s Academy Award-nominated Gasland, further making the case of how the shale industry’s hydraulic fracturing (“fracking”) boom is busting up peoples’ livelihoods, contaminating air and water, polluting democracy and serving as a “bridge fuel” only to propel us off the climate disruption cliff.

Try to act surprised. It seems that the report that claimed the Keystone XL Pipeline would have negligible environmental impact was authored in part by quasi-representatives of TransCanada – the firm who stands to benefit from its construction. The Bush Obama Administration even had the TransCanada connected consultants’ work histories redacted in hopes that no one would know that the State Department’s report was not only wrong on the science but a product of political corruption.

Dozens of people demonstrated in front of the White House to protest construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, which is being built by the multinational corporation TransCanada. Forty-eight of them engaged in civil disobedience and were arrested.

To its credit the Sierra Club seems to have recognized that the status quo is not working and has decided to escalate its activism. According to Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune the group will being a campaign of civil disobedience to fight climate change.

The Sierra Club and Public Citizen are particularly disappointed that the U.S. decided to weigh in on this case by submitting a third-party brief pointing out how Ontario’s program violated WTO rules.
