Why We Should Politicize #Sandy

By: Wednesday October 31, 2012 6:24 pm

Starting Monday I’ve been politicizing #Sandy.

I can almost hear in my head the right wing radio blowhards responding to this comment with their mocking strawman “The left want you to believe that WE are responsible for hurricane Sandy! Preposterous! It’s like when they blamed Bush for Katrina! My friends, these are “Acts of God! We had nothing to do with it!”

Oyster Creek Nuclear Alert: As Floodwaters Fall, More Questions Arise

By: Wednesday October 31, 2012 1:15 pm

New Jersey’s Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station remains under an official Alert, a day-and-a-half after the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission declared the emergency classification due to flooding triggered by Hurricane Sandy. An Alert is the second category on the NRC’s four-point emergency scale. Neil Sheehan, a spokesman for the federal regulator, said that floodwaters around the plant’s water intake structure had receded to 5.7 feet at 2:15 PM EDT Tuesday, down from a high of 7.4 feet reached just after midnight.

Romney ‘storm relief’ rally walks the tight rope between concern and insensitivity

By: Wednesday October 31, 2012 10:40 am

It was supposed to be another campaign event, but was changed because of Hurricane Sandy into a “rally” in which attendees had to bring a canned good. To put it as a comment on Buzzfeed’s site did, it was a rally which did a lot of good, but how it was done was “cringe-worthy.”

Romney at His Sandy ‘Relief’ Event Compares Hurricane Recovery to Picking up ‘Rubbish and Paper’ on Football Field

By: Tuesday October 30, 2012 4:00 pm

‘Out of touch’ doesn’t even begin to describe Mitt Romney. I can’t believe this country is thisclose to electing lying sociopath that is so obvious his handlers do little or nothing to stop the blatant horrors coming out of his mouth. In fact he has to have a team of like-minded people in order to unleash a continual stream of blunders and unmitigated falsehoods. That only makes it worse.

Obama, Sandy and the Oval Office Address

By: Saturday October 27, 2012 7:52 am

This is a moment for the President to show that he is not W. No reading My Pet Goat, no flyovers while New Orleans drowns, no phoney aircraft carrier landings. Now is the time for President Obama to show proactive leadership.

There is an unprecedented storm coming. Obama needs to do an Oval Office broadcast and tell the American people just what the federal government is doing to prepare for it.

Sandy Is the October Surprise

By: Thursday October 25, 2012 4:20 pm

It seems that there is a hurricane coming up from the tropics. It seems that there is also a cold front zooming down from Canada; depending on the path of the hurricane, the two could meet right over Long Island.

During a full moon.
