I’m not sure if Mitt Romney’s election post-mortem conference calls with donors were supposed to go like this, but his freestyling redux of his contempt for the 47% “moochers” and “takers” on the government teat was on grand display.

You can only imagine it was his Id, sore and pissed about his failure as a presidential candidate, with a shaky finger on the “launch” button of a heat-seeking missile aimed right at his party for tossing him overboard so quickly after the election. All that talk about outreach to Latinos, that growing demographic demonized all campaign season long by the GOP; the talk of how sh*tty their pro-rape candidates were that sank their chances to pull the wool over the eyes of women, after Mitt stood by Akin and Mourdock, not calling for them to step aside.

Now it was his turn.

Why wasn’t demonic possession addressed in the Presidential debates?! Demons are obviously as important an issue as low/no taxes, denying reproductive and LGBT rights, and keeping semi-automatic rifles in the hands of God (and demon) fearing Americans, since according to a poll conducted by Public Policy Polling, 68% of registered Republican voters believe in demonic possession. And it’s not just the GOP– 49% of Democratic voters also believe that demons can possess us.

The Des Moines Registrar editorial encouraging readers to vote for Governor Romney managed to get just about every major aspect of the current economic situation wrong.

It would seem that Obama simply has the far more effective political campaign. In the parts of the county where neither campaign has really been active Romney is doing well, but in the places where both campaigns are heavily active Obama appears to be over-performing. Obama having the more dominant campaign structure seems to be paying off.

Hurricane Sandy, which is currently battering much of the Eastern Seaboard, has managed to partially bring the presidential campaign to a stop a week before the election. Both President Obama and Mitt Romney have cancelled their campaign event which were planned for today and tomorrow.

Three polls of Ohio were released over the weekend. Combined they indicated President Obama still holds a small edge over Mitt Romney in the most important swing state this election. Both PPP and CNN show Obama with a four point lead but a poll by Ohio newspapers has the race tied.
