The corporate welfare mantra is that U.S. taxes on business are horrible and a deterrent to locating in the U.S. at all. The actuality is that most corporations avoid taxes by a variety of activities – that include offshoring profits.

Sometimes it’s comedic to try carrying on a dialogue with the talking heads. This morning I was listening with fascination as WaPo economics fiction writer insisted that the consumer is responsible for the debacle in our economy, and if we don’t go shopping, unemployment will go up.

Of course, the freedom from Rule of Law that the administration from Hell gave us has exploded into tragedies like the freedom from jobs, the freedom from safety of our food and environment, freedom from living wages, and freedom from health care.
