While most Republicans have kept their distance from Governor Chris Christie the former Mayor of New York City, Rudy Guiliani, has been willing to go on TV and other media outlets to push back against growing allegations of misconduct. Though his defense has not always been perfect, it has been consistent leading many to wonder why Guiliani had stepped forward.

Gov. Christie’s story changed after his appointee at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, David Wildstein, claimed through his attorney that Christie had lied at his marathon press conference about knowing about not knowing about the lane closures, saying he had evidence to the contrary.

As Governor Chris Christie tours Florida to help Governor Rick Scott win re-election and reassure his donors, subpoenas are dropping all over New Jersey in the scandal surrounding the improper and illegal closures of lanes on the George Washington Bridge or “Bridgegate.” The New Jersey Assembly’s Special Investigations Committee is believed to have issued around 20 subpoenas yesterday.
