Oh the repugnant non-drama of modern political theater.

Glitter rained down from the sky today at the Minnesota State Fair as activists sprinkled sparkles onto the Minnesota for Marriage booth and participants shouted, “Where’s our booth?! Equality for all.”

Clearly, we need to import more minimum wage jobs from California or take more federal bailouts from the Obama administration.

So, as we’ve known for a couple months, the Secessionist is running for president. I predict he’ll immediately become the anyone-but-Willard candidate/Teabagger favorite, and essentially knock Michele “Slavery Wasn’t So Bad” Bachmann out of the race. But as the RedStaters celebrate the arrival of their Savior, I’ve got a few questions.

I’m paraphrasing, but make no mistake — that’s exactly what he said.

Yet another “family values conservative” (where “family values” means sticking it to mothers and kids) is well on his way to getting a divorce. Quelle surprise. NOT.

Most Minnesotans who follow politics in the state figured that Bachmann and Associates, the counseling clinic run by Michele Bachmann’s husband Marcus, did professionally-discouraged “ungaying” therapy even though Marcus has denied it for years. Now, thanks to the efforts of The Nation and of Truth Wins Out (h/t to Dump Bachmann), we have proof that they do indeed.

The notion that Ronald Reagan couldn’t make it out of the primary in today’s Teahadist GOP has been a favorite meme on the left for years. After all, Reagan raised taxes eleven times, signed one of the largest tax increases in US history, signed a SHAMNESTY! bill, sought to ban nuclear weapons, passed one of the most liberal abortion laws in the country, was a former union president as well as a divorced former Democrat who was married to a practitioner of astrology.

Well, this idea is increasingly popular on the right as well.

At this rate, the GOP is going to have to give Willard two podiums at the next debate.
