This week, in Thursday’s “RedState” subscriber e-mail, Erick Erickson, the Conservative Christian pundit, told his followers that if Congress passes the bipartisan deal to expand background checks, hashed out by Sen. Joe Manchin and Sen. Pat Toomey, it will lead to the federal government taking the guns of everyone “…who believe in the physical resurrection of Christ…”

Big lawsuits are great opportunities to look at the state of mind of reporters, pundits and bloggers. I have posts on the case focused on the facts, the law and what they say about the Department of Justice. Of course, my biases are obvious: I think the DOJ refused to enforce the laws against fraud by Wall Street executives, that the refusal to investigate and enforce the law was a deliberate policy choice by President Obama, and that policy was intentionally put into practice by Attorney General Eric Holder and the head of the DOJ Criminal Division, Lanny Breuer. Others show their biases as well.

Jamie Love of KEI was in a high level meeting at the US Patent and Trade Office yesterday on intellectual property and access to medicines. When he tried to access his site to demonstrate something to the attendees, he found that the WiFi system that the USPTO provides to the public would not allow access his own KEI site.
