Late Night: #TestMe Reaches 1.5 Million People!

The CDC estimates that 1.1 million people in the US are HIV+ and 20% of those are unaware of their status. Early detection and early treatment lowers the rate of transmission.  Even though National HIV Testing Day has passed,  if you are sexually active, get tested every three months, or when you end a relationship – before beginning another. Ask your partner their status and suggest getting tested together. Play safe and stay safe!

Utah is commonly considered as one of the most conservative states in America, and for good reason; Democrats are essentially nonexistent in the state. Some Southern states will occasionally vote (or used to occasionally vote) for a conservative Democrat. Not Utah; its Republicans are rock-hard Republicans.

2011 marks the 30th year HIV/AIDS has been with us. 2011 marks the 30th year HIV/AIDS has been with us. Tremendous strides have been made in treatment and in stemming the spread of the disease. Currently Africa is the continent most affected by HIV/AIDS.

That two pills which cost about 40 cents a day can bring life back to those dying of HIV/AIDS is truly a miracle. Through The Global Fund, financial efforts by world governments (the US leading the way), and innovative private sector funding, medication, health care, testing and counseling are now available to millions people. Through The Global Fund, millions of people across Africa, and around the world, are now on life-saving antiretroviral treatment.
