Former NSA contractor and whistleblower Edward Snowden had a statement read at the “Stop Watching Us” Rally against mass surveillance in Washington,DC. It was read by Justice Department whistleblower and attorney with the Government Accountability Project, Jesselyn Radack.

This Saturday’s long urban ramble ended at the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero at 4pm, just in time to join the rally of immigration rights activists planning to march to AT&T Park to protest the Arizona Diamondbacks because of their state’s new “papers please” law.

Los Angeles’ May Day immigration reform rally was attended by approximately 60,000 people — including Emilio Estevez and Gloria Estefan and a contingent of 500 LGBT supporters as well as groups representing almost every ethnic and progressive group in the greater Southern Califonria area — making it the nation’s largest.
