You know, no matter how nice Maggie Gallagher and company tries to dress up the National Organization for Marriage’s rhetoric, when the organization is not successful, it always goes back to basic homophobia and fear tactics such as the following “gays are coming after your children” ad it ran in Rhode Island recently.

Perhaps the Family Research Council’s Peter Sprigg should quit while he is ahead. As he continues to milk the recent controversy involving Pastor Louie Giglio – whose inauguration invitation to give the benediction was rescinded due to past anti-gay sermons he preached – he opens himself and FRC up for scrutiny.

Honestly, I guess the professional anti-LGBT movement has to completely go off the rails in order to stay in business. The level of hysteria and junk science bleating to the shrinking base of people willing to write them a check to stay fat and happy is necessary. As David Badash said over at The New Civil Rights Movement, SPLC-certified hate group leader of Family Research Council Tony Perkins learned on Thursday that “credible journalists will no longer allow him to lie about gay people, same-sex marriage, or the LGBT community on national TV anymore.”

As many of you have probably heard, Maggie Gallagher has stepped down as chair of the National Organization for Marriage.
Details are extremely sketchy, but NOM has put on a brave face on the announcement by giving accolades to Gallagher and introducing, with much fanfare, her replacement – law professor and tea party favorite, John Eastman.

On the National Organization for Marriage’s blog, NOM president Brian Brown is raising a fuss about a disastrous debate he had on the Fox Network show Stossel two weeks ago.
Brown’s biggest adversary wasn’t the person he was debating, David Haryansi, but host John Stossel and the audience. And this week, Stossel continued to criticize Brown’s argument and performance in a column.
