Harvard historian Niall Ferguson has a history of saying inflammatory nonsense to get attention. But recently while trying to sex up an attack on his long dead intellectual nemesis, John Maynard Keynes, Ferguson went way too far in his endless quest to widen the eyes of his audience.

On this Memorial Day weekend, I give thanks for Hugh Thompson, Jr., Glenn Andreotta, and Lawrence Colburn, who courageously and properly said “no” in the face of misguided fellow soldiers and superiors.
When I hear someone say “thank you for your service” to a member of the military, I think of these three, who embodied the best of what “service to your country” is, in the face of others who embodied that service at its worst.

Pat Buchanan who has a soft spot in his heart for anything Master Racesque is very concerned that Elana Kagan will upset the delicate balance on the Supreme Court between Catholics and the people who killed their blond-haired blue-eyed-savior, and so he wants to know why Democrats don’t pick an Irish or Polish Catholic guy like Republicans always do.
