Controversy has arisen over whether Pope Francis advocated for a civil unions law in Argentina in 2010 while he served as Archbishop of Buenos Aires. The New York Times and CNN quote sources saying that he did, while a source quoted by Catholic News Agency refutes those claims.

If then-Archbishop Bergoglio didn’t advocate for civil unions, he should have, according to the Vatican document “Considerations Regarding Proposals to Give Legal Recognition to Unions Between Homosexual Persons“.

 

Seattle Archbishop Leads the Charge Against Marriage Equality, Women Religious, and Others Who Think

Seattle’s Archbishop J. Peter Sartain is a busy guy. He’s involved in getting his flock motivated to put an anti-marriage equality measure called Referendum 74 on the ballot in Washington, even though local priests and congregations are resisting. Now he’s also been tapped to oversee a Vatican-ordered obedience training for the Leadership Conference of Women Religious, who keep talking about things like women’s health issues instead of opposite-sex marriage that the bishops want them to talk about. So much for religious freedom.

During the Christmas mass, the Pope urged the faithful to see through the superficial glitter of the season. At the same time, he wants to continue the Roman Catholic Church’s anti-gay pogrom, but you wouldn’t expect him to sell a ring or a scepter to pay for the discredited ex-gay “therapy”, the ballot attacks on marriage equality and the forthcoming anti-choice and anti-equality campaign dressed up in a cloak of “religious liberty”, now would you?

Pope Benedict XVI just had a sexy new revelation from his God: Condoms are allowed during sex to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. Of course, it’s still a sin to use them as birth control, but it’s a greater sin to pass HIV/AIDS.
