3D Printing Tech Comes to Guns

Shortly after the latest attempt at gun control in Washington went down in flames, Defense Distributed announced that they had completed a project to produce an open source 3D printable handgun. Effectively nullifying many of the meager gun control laws that have been passed. Anyone with a 3D printer and the internet can now make their own handgun.

Open Source Battle Over Obama’s Reelection Software

While the Obama campaign developers want to, in keeping with the open source ethos, release the code their DNC and Obama For America (OFA) counterparts are wary. The DNC is particularly concerned with the Republicans gaining from the use of the software and OFA is considering licensing opportunities.
