By: Casual Observer Saturday December 17, 2011 5:00 pm

Occupy Supply and Occupy San Antonio (OSA) are working together to keep occupiers going through the winter season. Base-layers, hats, scarves, blankets and duck coats have now been delivered and distributed from Occupy San Antonio HQ in Hemisfair Park, located downtown.

Another in our series of local occupation reports, this one from the FDL liaison for Salt Lake City. The post reports on the delivery of the first shipment of warm weather clothing to Occupy SLC. Photos show occupiers and lots of appreciation for the quality and thoughtfulness of the supplies.

2 More Arrested at Occupy Tucson, Citations Surpass 700

Joan was a little jacked when I caught up with her after her overnight incarceration, a little hyper still. After she had a chance to say hi to some friends and exchange some hugs, we sat underneath a tree in the park and had a quiet conversation. Turns out she had never been read her rights, which fits rather well with all else that is occurring in our nation. Neither had she been allowed a phone call to her attorney. In the morning she was arraigned via video conferencing, albeit the arraignment did not include a mention of what the charges were against her. The judge did manage to tell her when she would be required to appear before the court once again.

Life Under Occupation (Occupy Austin Flash Mob)

By: Kit OConnell Monday November 7, 2011 6:30 pm

Visiting an Occupation, even a relatively small one like ours, is a little surreal. The energy is so heated. There’s so much passion, energy, even anger. Then you step away and realize the world continues as normal. Despite the global nature of this movement, people everywhere are living life; Re-entry is jarring when one steps from any temporary encampment to the bright lights of a grocery store.

Occupy Hilo Makes Some Noise

By: CTuttle Wednesday October 26, 2011 7:00 pm

Yesterday, I was finally able to participate in an OWS event, for even my sleepy little hollow, in the middle of nowhere, made some noise! Now, to be fair, Occupy Hilo has already made some noise in solidarity of OWS, but sadly, I was stuck on top of Mauna Kea stargazing during their previous events…!

Occupy Wall Street Running Smoothly in Louisville

By: theflamingmaiden Saturday October 15, 2011 10:20 am

Maybe I should begin by explaining why I am the 99%. After all, my husband and I are both viably employed. We can afford extras. We live a comfortable, happy, middle-class existence. We are aware of our good fortune, which is why I spend a great many hours every week volunteering. Helping others is important to us — I don’t judge the man on the street for his decisions because I don’t know his circumstances. The man on the street might just as well be me.

Inside/Outside Occupy Philly

By: RevDeb Tuesday October 11, 2011 3:17 pm

I went into downtown Philly today with Mr. Rev. to see with my own eyes and listen with my ears and my heart to what is happening here and all over the country. Mixed feelings—despair and hope, humor and sadness, expressions of peace alongside preparations for violence.

Occupying Portland, Politely

By: cocktailhag Friday October 7, 2011 9:03 am

I was a little worried, as I prepared to head to the waterfront to assemble for Occupy Portland; I had just gotten an email from Daily Kos asking me to “pledge” to occupy, and it said I would be joining 37 other hardy souls.

“Really?” my friend Denise asked, “there’s only going to be 37 people?” I assured her that for any lefty event, even in the crappiest weather, we always get at least 5000, but maybe we ought to head down anyway. I grabbed my sign, which said “Let Them Eat Koch,” and we set out.
