My past few New Year’s Eves have been really, well, not the best way to start the new year. But sorry to argue with Bono and U2–this year something changed on New Year’s Day!

I’m excited about New Year’s Eve! Tonight we’ll be discussing one of America’s most influential entertainers (and businesswoman!) Lucille Ball. And after that, I’m heading out for an early New Year’s Eve dinner with friends at my fave local restaurant where my buddy will be cooking (and his wife is one of the guests at our table!)

Happy New Year to you all, and if you’re in the neighborhood, I’m serving black-eyed peas (with bacon seasoning), and you’re welcome.

In terms of refreshments at Chez Siberia (we are not entertaining a crowd here; New Year’s Eve at our house consists of movies and lots and lots of food), we’ve got laid out: meatballs, artichoke dip, home make French bread, oven bbq chicken thighs, a fruit, veggie and cheese plate, and punch, with a Finger Lakes bubbly (we drink local) for the toast.
