Today marks the one year anniversary of the death of Aaron Swartz, the computer coder and Internet freedom activist, who committed suicide while facing prosecution on federal hacking charges. So, today, in Aaron’s memory and for the causes he believed in, Harvard University Professor Lawrence Lessig is walking across New Hampshire.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) has seen a huge drop in support among New Hampshire Republicans since last April, according to a newly released WMUR Granite State poll. Back in April Rubio was tied for first place with Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) with 15 percent each. Now Rubio stands in fifth place with just 6 percent. A major drop.

An online marketplace without any competition would seem like a pretty silly idea but that will apparently be the reality in New Hampshire. The only choice for people using the new exchange in New Hampshire will be Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield of New Hampshire. It was the only company that applied.

The legal use of medical marijuana in New Hampshire just took a big step towards becoming a reality today. The New Hampshire House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved HB 573 in a 286 to 64 vote.
The bill would allow people with certain serious medical conditions to use medical marijuana if they get a doctor’s recommendation. Patients and caregivers would be required to register with the state. Patients would be allowed to grow up to three plants. The law would also allow for the creation of five non-profit alternative treatment centers where qualified patients could get access to medical marijuana.

The people of New Hampshire want medical marijuana legalized by their state government. According to the latest WMUR Granite State Poll, an incredible 79 percent of adults in New Hampshire support medical marijuana while only 14 percent oppose the idea.

The voters of New Hampshire seem prepared to embrace their “Live Free or Die” motto when it comes to marijuana reform. A new Public Policy Polling survey for MPP found that a majority of voters in the state think marijuana should be legalized for adults.
