To the extent that the federal government has a role to play in lowering gas prices, one of the biggest things they can do is stop making the world believe that Iran faces an imminent attack on their nuclear facilities that will potentially inflame the entire Middle East and threaten the security of oil shipments. So it’s fortuitous that this intelligence assessment was released in the past 48 hours.

The US has sustained more casualties this year that at any other time in the war. Civilian casualties, internal displacement and lack of access to medical treatment have grown, and remain huge challenges for those living under occupation. The US public has completely soured on the war, with 60% now believing it was not worth fighting.

Here it is, to be laid out by the latest National Intelligence Estimates: no real partner in the corrupt central government, lagging development and security training, no buy-in from Pakistan to root out safe havens, fading support from the public, and a country still under Taliban control, for the most part.
Other than that, great war we’re running.
