The FBI wanted him to “give the FBI his computer so it could securely remove the classified information.” McClanahan would not allow the FBI to do this and Belvin suggested he was being uncooperative. When McClanahan suggested the FBI apply for a warrant to gain access to his computer, which he would probably then move to quash, Belvin informed him the FBI would likely do this.

I have worked on large, complex client-server applications for child welfare databases for various states. I have tested various applications or overseen testing as an IV&V contractor in multiple states. I was not at all surprised to hear that testing had been given short shrift because testing is pretty much always given short shrift. Invariably, the project schedule and “go-live” dates are seemingly graven in stone so when problems crop up, time has to be taken from other areas in order to meet the required date.

Well, the Republican Congressional Arson Committee was out-voted Wednesday and the government shutdown has ended and the debt ceiling has been raised. At least for a few months. Now come the analyses striving to set the Conventional Wisdom.

The notion that news reports—journalism—effectively alerted al Qaeda leaders that their communications were being monitored by US intelligence was legitimized by the New York Times on Monday, when it published statements purely from anonymous US officials containing such allegations. The Times implicated McClatchy Newspapers as being responsible and now the media organization has responded with a news report of its own.
