Madonna vs St. Petersburg Over LGBT Rights

By: Monday March 26, 2012 8:15 am

Madonna declared on her Facebook page that she will speak up against a new stringent anti-LGBT law in St. Petersburg, Russian which calls for fining anyone who promotes the false perception that traditional and non-traditional relationships are socially equal. Fines can be as high as $15,000, and St Petersburg city assemblyman Vitaly Milanov says he [...]

Santorum Says Gays, Lesbians With Kids Are Families

By: Monday February 20, 2012 7:15 pm

Rick Santorum has had a come to Jesus moment, and I mean the kind, loving Jesus of the Bible, not the uptight, angry dude so many conservatives are trying to pass off as the son of God these days.

By: Thursday January 12, 2012 5:00 pm

As my friend Victoria said in email: “Guess we will have to buy extra cookies this year,” a sentiment reflected in many of the comments on Taylor’s video. So support your local troop, Girl Scouts and transgender children by buying Girl Scout cookies.

My Name Is Ceara Sturgis, and I am Not a Troublemaker

By: Thursday December 8, 2011 3:58 pm

Let me explain. I’m a graduate of Wesson Attendance Center Class of 2010. I loved my high school. I had great friends, I got good grades, I played soccer and was in the band, and I got along well with my teachers. I stayed out of trouble. My high school experience was pretty unremarkable, actually, until it came time for senior year portraits.

I’ve never been what you’d call a girly-girl. I feel uncomfortable in dresses and am much happier wearing T-shirts and khaki shorts. I always find clothes that I like in the boys’ section, rather than the girls’. But this was never an issue at school at all. Nobody ever made me feel weird or like an outcast.

By: Friday October 28, 2011 4:30 pm

The correct term for the struggle same-sex couples are fighting for, the recognition of their intimate unions by the state on the same terms, entirely, of the relationships of opposite-sex couples is “Marriage Equality.” There’s actually no such thing as “Gay Marriage,” which is the preferred term of American homobigots, sometimes accompanied by the disparaging prefix so-called.

Jury Unable to Reach Verdict in Gay Student’s Killing — UPDATE: Mistrial

By: Thursday September 1, 2011 6:25 pm

Our criminal justice system is entirely broken if the unsettling behavior of homicide victims is allowed as a justification for their murder, in middle school. This jury needs to do its job, not moan about how hard this decision is. It wasn’t hard for Brandon McInerney to get a gun and kill Larry King.
