Late Night FDL: The Roundup

By: David Dayen Wednesday November 16, 2011 8:00 pm

Don’t forget about the Nationwide Day of Mass Action tomorrow. I will be Occupying a dentist’s chair in the morning, unfortunately, and missing the LA event, which is at 7am.

Late Night FDL: Dumb and Dangerous Patrol

By: Lisa Derrick Tuesday September 20, 2011 8:00 pm

I just got back from watching a taping of two episodes for Dr. Drew’s Lifechangers and I think Dr Drew needs to have Andrew Breitbart and John Hagee on to get some hugs. And not from Rick Perry.

Late Night FDL: Larry Flynt Sez “Keep It Private!”

By: Lisa Derrick Tuesday August 16, 2011 8:00 pm

Anonymous’ #opBART dox dump of user names, emails and passwords presaged Larry Flynt’s Huffington Post blog today in which the free speech advocate wrote:

“Any information you put out into cyberspace could come back to bite you in the ass.”

FDL Late Night: I Join AARP. Maybe.

By: Lisa Derrick Tuesday June 14, 2011 8:00 pm

These past five decades have been really exciting, thrilling, overwhelming, full of noise and laughter and music, world tragedies and huge advances, personal sorrows and joys. Close friends have died, married, divorced, remarried, had babies, been denied the right to marry, lost their homes. I have loved well, but at times not wisely.

Late Night: Spring Cleaning

By: Allison Hantschel Monday May 9, 2011 8:00 pm

I won’t lie to you. Unless someone’s coming over, I tend to let things around the house go. Watching TV or playing Scrabble with Mr. A after dinner often takes precedence over doing the dishes immediately. I mean, the place isn’t filthy. We have pets, so we make sure to do maintenance regularly so the place doesn’t smell like We Have Pets, but I don’t always sort the mail or hang up my coat right away when I get in the door at night.

Are you a neat freak? A slob? Do you do spring cleaning?

Joan Rivers “Waterboarded” by Grandson and Friends

By: Lisa Derrick Tuesday April 5, 2011 8:00 pm

Joan Rivers is one of the smartest, funniest comics imaginable, and her new “reality” show Joan Knows Best has some really bright, touching moments, like her scattering her friends ashes throughout Beverly Hills and ending up doing a routine in a West Hollywood bar, dancing with the guys. Or visiting her daughter’s childhood home.

But Episode 7, “Home Alone” (which featured the latter segment) also had a bit which I am still trying to parse.

Late Night: May You Live in Fascinating Times

By: Lisa Derrick Tuesday March 15, 2011 8:00 pm

There’s a combo blessing/curse: May you live in interesting times.

Fascinating. We live in fascinating times, may be a bigger curse.

Late Night: Ladies’ Night, International Women’s Day. Mardi Gras – Join Us!

By: Lisa Derrick Tuesday March 8, 2011 8:00 pm

Today is the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day: “a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. In some places like China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria, International Women’s Day is a national holiday.”

Late Night: Lardish Limbaugh Wrong

By: Lisa Derrick Tuesday February 22, 2011 8:00 pm

Actually, the problem is, while Rush may be used to downing ribs with that many calories, the rib–yes one rib– enjoyed by the First Lady at Kelly Liken in Vail, Colorado with her daughters, while tasty, carried less than half that caloric load.

Late Nite FDL: Want People To Vote? Give Them Choices

By: Phoenix Woman Wednesday August 11, 2010 8:07 pm

This election year has seen a drop in enthusiasm from normal Democratic voting groups such as youthful voters — and a corresponding drop in voter turnout. The exception? Minnesota. The reason? Having actual choices.
