The prank phone call to Gov. Scott Walker by a man pretending to be billionaire industrialist David Koch has become a real tipping point. I don’t know how the national media has reacted to it, but the state media was seriously aggressive in yesterday’s inexplicable press conference.

Funny how the “respectable” press must continually promote race-baiting dingbats like Glenn Beck and the Koch-backed Astroturf that is the Tea Party wing of the GOP — while comparatively all but ignoring the richer-than-God paleoconservative oil barons funding the whole shebang. To paraphrase Blue Texan, it’s the best “grass roots” protest that a billionaire’s money can buy.

Whose oil is it under the ground? Who “owns” that oil? In Alaska they decided the oil belongs to the People of the state and that the People will benefit if it is extracted. When the oil was discovered they created as part of their Constitution to establish the Alaska Permanent Fund, which collects at least 25% of the proceeds from companies that drill, and use that money for the People of the state for current and all future generations.
