Keynes’s ideas aren’t dead. Congress is full of ignorant people who can’t understand those ideas or their implications for our situation today, but the ideas aren’t dead.

Conservatives loathe Keynes, but they have no answer to the inexorable logic of his book. That makes them push their idiot theories even harder. That will be great for the rich, and screw the rest of us.

Not that this post will penetrate the bubble around economists such as New York Times Economix blog contributor and economist Casey Mulligan, but let’s play with some numbers here.

Tax the rich or face worsening standards of living. It’s that simple.
