Game of Thrones Returns on Sunday!

By: Saturday April 5, 2014 5:20 pm

As someone who only caught up with the series last year and therefore had the option of binge-watching the first two seasons–the wait between seasons was painful but manageable.

Game of Thrones: My Favorite New Thing of 2013

By: Tuesday December 31, 2013 6:45 pm

Raindrops on roses, whiskers on kittens, direwolves in the tundra and The Wall and gratuitous nudity, and Ygritte is so annoying and sword play and WINTER IS COMING GAME OF THRONES IS THE BEST.

HBO Gets honest for 3 minutes….mostly.

By: Sunday February 3, 2013 5:00 pm

This 3 minute clip has been getting some play on the Internet. I don’t know how many people have shared it on YouTube and FB but it has been quite a few. The opening of the new series NEWSROOM, though not having cable I will not be able to see just how honest it will remain. Most series have at least 3 minutes worth watching.

Late Night: Armageddon Tired of This Mayan Apocalypse. Now Everyone’s Gone to the Movies. Or Santacon!

By: Tuesday December 18, 2012 8:00 pm

NASA continues to peer into the future, claiming that the world did not end on 12.21.12. We’ll address that on 12.22.12. If we’re here. Meanwhile, I got email from JP Sottile at newsvandal with whom I have an ongoing tinfoil millinery competition…

Late Night FDL: Game Change

By: Tuesday March 6, 2012 8:00 pm

A Year after the BP Spill, It’s All about Access

By: Saturday April 16, 2011 9:00 am

A year after the BP disaster erupted in the Gulf, Cherri Foytlin walked from her home in New Orleans to the White House, to let President Obama hear firsthand the suffering that continues to affect the residents of the Gulf Coast. Sadly, she couldn’t get an invitation to get past the gate. (Rubbing salt in her wounds — she got to watch Alan Simpson and Erskine Bowles stroll past her on the sidewalk on their way inside.)

Meanwhile, BP and certain parts of the government continue to try to spin the news, limiting media access to heroic rescuers, limiting scientific access to spill sites, and otherwise trying to hide the record and avoid accountability.

Access. It’s the name of the game.
