In the wake of the horrific Sikh temple shooting in Oak Creek, Wisconsin by Wade Michael Page—an ex-military neo-Nazi—comes a startling new investigation that reveals the depths of the extremist and criminal elements that have infiltrated the US military over the past two decades. Compiling years of research, interviews, and reporting from around the globe, journalist Matt Kennard presents a hard look at how the deliberate loosening of enlistment standards, especially after 9/11, allowed neo-Nazis, gang members, and the mentally ill to flood the ranks of the military.

The tide has turned and hate and junk science purveyors like Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association need to be prepared to be tossed off the air (CNN’s Carol Costello had enough of his foolishness the other day). Now Fischer is foaming at the mouth — and TEH HOMO is to blame.

The mainstream media usually gives professional Beltway homophobes like Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council and Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association uncontested air time to spew homophobic, misogynistic crap (often couched in pious “Christian” remarks about “family”).
CNN’s Carol Costello had her fill of Fischer today.

After publishing a poorly thought out column in the WaPo defending FRC last week that in essence slammed LGBT groups and allies that called him out for his preposterous defense that the well-documented anti-LGBT organization is not a hate group, Dana Milbank went on the Michelangelo Signorile Show and still ignored the factual evidence placed before him.

Michelangelo Signorile has published an open letter to the Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins, challenging him to a public debate over at Huffpost or on his SiriusXM show over whether the organization deserves the hate group label.

I could hardly believe what I was reading when I saw this breathtaking quote in Dana Milbank’s WaPo column arguing that the Family Research Council, because Tony Perkins doesn’t wear white sheets and go on Night Rides, isn’t a hate group.

Sadly, Family Research Council’s honcho Tony Perkins took to the media today in an attempt to discredit the Southern Poverty Law Center’s accurate assessment of FRC as a hate group, charging that the organization gave shooter Floyd Corkins a license to shoot the security guard at its building in DC.

I love it when newspapers and other traditional media get on indy blogs for having “no editorial standards” and then lo and behold, ish like this blows up. The “problem” started with an story containing an interview with Pennsylvania activist Steve Smith in the Scranton Times-Tribune that failed to mention his long history with the neo-Nazi movement.

The leading pseudo-Christian hate groups in this country host the “Values Voters Summit,” This convention is sponsored by many organizations characterized as hate groups by the Southern Poverty Law Center. This year’s invited feature speaker is Mitt Romney.
