Ebeneezer Scrooge, the Grinch, and the Modern GOP

As Christmas approaches, Ebeneezer Scrooge and the Grinch are front and center in the GOP’s blocking of extending unemployment benefits to the long-term unemployed. While Scrooge and the Grinch eventually figured out that they were missing something, the modern GOP in Congress would label them as “weak” and “wishy-washy” and “backsliders.”

And FDR would have eaten them for lunch.

My husband played me about a 3 minute video of Mr. Limbaugh complaining that children expect to be fed during the summer. I kid you not. The man is complaining about feeding needy children.

Bah, humbug. Forget the cute socks hanging by the fireplace and the stomach-churning eggnog. ‘Tis the season to go after the Grinch. This year, there are many options. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)
