Well, another day, another effort of bible-thumpery for naught.

Talk About a SmackDown: WWE’s Stone Cold Steve Austin Comes Out for Gay Marriage

By: Friday April 25, 2014 4:15 pm

What’s remarkable about the exchange is how unremarkable it is. Austin’s indignation and dismissal of intolerant faith-based counter arguments represents an increasingly mainstream point of view. The fact that so much time has been spent over the last year questioning whether the NBA or NFL was ready for openly gay players seems silly in light of this rant.

Nice career move

The Michigan Attorney General’s office, continuing to serve the people of the state by reflecting the true tolerance of a far-right political position has been struck by incompetence yet again.

Center Right Opposition To Gay Rights Collapsing

By: Monday March 3, 2014 11:28 am

Over the weekend one of the Christian right’s most public defenders, Ross Douthat, essentially threw in the towel in opposing gay rights. In one of his regular columns for the paper of record titled The Terms of Our Surrender Douthat not only conceded that the “religious liberty” argument put forth by other pundits was doomed, [...]

Ian McKellen Talks Coming Out: Never Met a Gay Person Who Regretted It

By: Saturday March 1, 2014 9:27 am

Ian McKellen is an incredible actor. With a vast career that includes high profile roles like X-Men’s Magneto and The Hobbit’s Gandolf, his ability to inhabit his roles is unmatched. I don’t ever think about Magneto while watching Lord of the Rings and vice versa. Both characters are epic! While on screen McKellen has your full attention in whatever character he’s portraying.

By: Tuesday February 25, 2014 7:35 am

Just in case a lot of you all aren’t aware, Arizona recently passed a “religious liberty” law, SB1062, targeted at the lgbt community. This law would allow businesses to refuse service to same-sex couples on the grounds of “religious liberty.”

The law isn’t official yet – Gov. Jan Brewer has yet to sign it – but it is already considered a disaster for anti-gay groups and those who support it.

Angel Haze is no stranger to leveraging her platform – and her art- to tackle uncomfortable subjects. She’s also no stranger to remixing previous works to say something totally new and necessary in a way that only she can.

Case and point: the artist’s remix of Macklemore’s hit single Same Love.

By: Sunday September 29, 2013 11:59 am

The moral of this story is pretty clear. Whether you’re Chick-fil-A or Urban Outfitters or any of these other companies that have publicly said something problematic about an entire demographic — people are paying attention, and they will absolutely buy their pasta elsewhere.
