Rabbit’s gonna give you tough love.
A lot of the same old, same old on today (surprise!) and also Gene Sperling many times, but even though Bob Woodward does show up in a roundtable, he isn’t matched up with Sperling.

Good morning! Watertiger’s coming in today for Book Salon, and so is Joe Biden – well, the Onion version of Joe Biden. Should be a ball. And tonight’s our annual Oscars Gala (fluffing my boas now), don’t miss it. As for the listings, there’s an exclusive appearance by John McCain! Surprising, I know. WASHINGTON JOURNAL. [...]

Good morning! Looks like Bob Schieffer is still all a-Benghazied. And President Obama’s new chief of staff is making the rounds today. Aaand one more Republican rebuttal to the State of the Union, this one’s from Paul Ryan. How many do they get? FDL Book Salon this afternoon is Abraham Lincoln and his love of [...]

Hi, just firing up the Pancake-omatic here so I can make you breakfast (Marion deserves a day off every now and then, no?). Can someone set the table?
The main topic on the shows this morning is the upcoming State of the Union speech, which of course we will be covering Tuesday evening.

Codebreaker is Movie Night Monday’s offering, the story of Alan Turing. He was a giant of a mind and it’s shocking that he was driven to suicide at the relatively young age of 41 just because he was gay. He was frank about his sexuality, all but negating the concern that that information could be used as blackmail against him; nevertheless he underwent chemical castration (good god). I can’t begin to imagine what we as a society lost because of of this idiotic prejudice. We owe him so much.

As for the listings: “When was the last time John McCain *wasn’t* on the Sunday shows?” Peterr asks. Be thankful for small favors.

A happy winter morning to all – the sun is going to shine here, I’m sure, it’s peeking through the clouds. And like you, I’m looking forward to seeing what Marion brings us for breakfast.
Once again, looking at the lineup, our Peterr sees through:
“I’m struck by the absence of Boehner, Cantor, and other big GOP names from the House. Mitch McConnell is out there from the Senate, and there are a number of GOP House newcomers, but the Powers That Be from The People’s House are conspicuous by their absence.
I almost get the idea that the GOP House leadership doesn’t really want to talk about anything that happened last week — the Sandy debacle, the election of the speaker, and other divisions in their ranks — as we look ahead to the debt ceiling mess, the sequester fight, and the continuing continuing resolution battle.”
Tune in, turn on…

Happy (almost) New Year! Hard to believe it is already December 30th, *sigh*. But of course next year will be bigger and better! Right? As for the listings: Candy Crowley at least has Ag Secretary Vilsack on about the Dairy Cliff, but an entire roundtable on Horse Race 2016? – already? – killmenow. Over at [...]
