Even though we aren’t having winter here in SE PA this year, I did think you’d enjoy this video of Sisyphus and his new snowblower.

Great Book Salon today, Pity the Billionaire (now just where did I put my tiny violin?). And Lisa Derrick brings us the Academy Award nominated documentary Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory Monday night. Also Virtually Speaking tonight features McJoan and Stuart Zechman, tune in.

Super Sunday! I know some of you don’t care for football, but you have to admit it’s a great day for eating.

(You can tell from the listings here that the game is on NBC.)

Sunday Talking Heads: January 29, 2012

Buenos dias. (I don’t know how to say “Good morning” in moonspeak.)

Scarecrow notes – NBC certainly has an all star line up. They’re all set for a discussion of the housing crisis, featuring a man who doesn’t know how many homes he owns and a paid shill for reverse mortgages.

Teddy observed – Wasserman Shultz checks so many boxes! Democrat, lady, Jew, Floridian, party chair, cancer survivor, friend of Gabby, mom. All the bookers need is for one of the shows to have her on. Then all bases are covered. With one guest! And, in fact, that’s exactly what they did.

Peterr points out – CBS: “Also Dave Barry” Finally, CBS has an analyst whose gifts match the guests on the show. Who better to comment on Bachmann, Trump, and the Occupants of the GOP Clown Car? On the other hand, I could see how someone would say “Aren’t there enough comedians on the show already? Why add one more?” Meanwhile, on NBC, “If it’s Sunday, it’s . . . John McCain.” Why don’t they simply let him host the show?

There’s a lot here that is worth your while.

The South Carolina primary is January 21, so from here on in, I guess it’s all South Carolina, all the time. Polling shows Mitt is rising, but Rick Santorum did pick up a key (for him) endorsement this weekend.

We have Dylan Ratigan with Bill Black for FDL’s Book Salon, tomorrow night is a fascinating space story for FDL’s Movie Night. And don’t forget Virtually Speaking with Culture of Truth and digby this evening.

Here are your listings…

Sunday Talking Heads: December 18, 2011

There is Sunday talking heads news, Christiane Amanpour will step down at ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopolous replacing her. Curious because Jack Tapper was not a bad substitute in the past.

Teddy sez:

Stretch Gregory has decided it’s simply unnecessary for him to have Democrats on his wee programme.

Romney’s going BACK on Fox?

Nice to see Evan Bayh settling into the Junior Lieberman role comfortably on FOX. Unlike Harold Ford, he’s actually held office in this millennium.

And from Scarecrow:

Ah, This Week is going to have a debate over whether there’s too much government. Clever choice. I suggest the next one be: Resolved: “The current Republican Party is a criminal enterprise funded to protect large corporations and further enrich the rich by looting the middle class and poor, but the Democratic Party has become too corrupt to prosecute them.” Discuss.
