Dem. Ron Barber Wins Arizona 8th

Last night Democrat Ron Barber easily won the special election in Arizona’s 8th Congressional district to replace retiring Democrat Gabby Gifford. Barber was Gifford’s aide and her chosen successor. His margin of victory bodes well for Democrats holding the seat in November.

Democrats Likely to Hold Gifford’s Former House Seat

It looks like Democrats will manage to hold on to Arizona’s 8th Congressional district, the seat once held by “Gabby” Giffords, according to a new poll by Public Policy Polling. The firm found that Democratic candidate Ron Barber holds a commanding 12 point lead over Republican Jesse Kelly.
