While Big Business think tanks and lobbyists try to foster skepticism on climate change one mega-corporation has decided to take the science very seriously. Unfortunately that company is Monsanto and their plan is to expand their monopoly into climate-resilient crops.

Agribusiness monopoly Monsanto is facing class action lawsuits after its genetically modified wheat was found in areas it was never approved to be in. Monsanto still claims it is mystified and that all its experimental GMO wheat was destroyed.

The search for the rogue wheat is still ongoing.

Unlike in America where the company can bribe its way to legal immunity Europe has something America had many years ago – the rule of law and democratic accountability. Unfortunately for Monsanto this means when farmers and consumers object to more frankenfood they have to give up, at least for now.

Monsanto Gets Its Very Own Law

Hope and change strikes again. A provision many are dubbing the “Monsanto Protection Act” was covertly inserted into the Agricultural Appropriations Bill that President Obama signed Tuesday. The provision protects genetically modified food interests from litigation.
