Health Insurance Industry Loves That You Can’t Afford to Use Your Coverage

The for-profit insurance companies have unnecessarily raised premiums and deductibles so much that regular people are unable to afford actually using the coverage they have. And, at the same time, the insurance companies have the chutzpah to use the fact that people can’t afford to use their insurance to justify even bigger premium hikes.

This month, as the Senate is embroiled in heated debate over health care reform, one might expect insurance companies to be on their best behavior – the same way restaurants are when the health inspector drops by. But not you, Aetna. You don’t care how closely your policies are being scrutinized on the national stage – you still have the guts to make fearless corporate decisions.
