Mitt Romney’s campaign official told CNN that his guy can easily “reset” his positions to be more moderate in the general election. It’s like an “etch-a-sketch,” he said; you just shake it up. Who knew that Mitt could so easily flip flop? And what is that saying to the media and the voters?

The big political issue for Mitt Romney’s future is that the Republican base hates the health care law pushed by President Obama, and that law is structurally almost identical to the state level reform Romney signed as Governor of Massachusetts. Romney’s most recent effort to try to thread the needle on this issue has gotten him slammed by the editorial board of the Wall Street Journal. They call him basically the worst thing you could call any Republican primary candidate, no better than a Democrat.
