I was talking to one of our membership engagement team members (MET), our pilot volunteer program, this afternoon. He said that he had a wonderful conversation with someone when calling to thank a member for joining. They talked, exchanged emails, and are at the beginning of what could be a great friendship. It is really heartwarming, exciting, and rewarding to hear stories like that and know that I helped in some way to orchestrate it.

By popular demand, we’re celebrating the honorific that has been bestowed on our community by offering a special Firebagger membership level of $65 per year that comes with an “Official Firebagger” t-shirt. (If you’re already a member, you can order t-shirts and tote bags here.)

Not really interested in getting into this firebagger/Nobel Prize winning economist Paul Krugman is but a mere child thing (written by a worldly 28 year-old who has seen and done it all, man) but it is a sad fact of life that there are
some many within the Obama White House who see the liberal base as someone you call up every four years for a quickie fuck and then don’t return their calls or respond to their texts for another four years. Some of these people are (or were) major players like Rahm or William Daley and others are like OFA’s New Mexico State Director Ray Sandoval who plays the role of Guy Fleegman in our current drama.

I’m not sure what to make of this. Sandoval’s dismissive response to Terkel indicates that this wasn’t an “oops” moment, and that OFA believes this is a sound political strategy.
Atrios says, “politicians gotta do what they gotta do and if attacking the Jane Hamshers Of The Left and KRGTHULU is the way to get money, love, and votes, then more power to them….If.”
I totally agree, if they’re doing this because they think it’s a good campaign strategy, do what you have to do. The qualifier, of course, is the if.
