This newest tripe, I mean action alert by the Family Research Council has gotten me a bit angry. The organization is pushing a bill which could allow adoption agencies and foster care providers to engage in anti-gay discrimination under the guise of religious freedom.

Next week, SCOTUS is expected to rule on the Hobby Lobby case, challenging the requirement that private employers that provide insurance to their employees must include contraceptives in the list of services covered with no co-pay. While legal scholars have been watching to see how this decision plays out, women have been taking action, demonstrating their desire to control their own reproductive lives. HHS just released a report showing a very positive picture of women using the provisions of ACA to deal with their reproductive choices, and Erica Hellerstein at The Atlantic painted a more disturbing picture of an underground DIY approach as safe and legal access to abortion is limited or eliminated.
One way or another, women will make their own decisions.

I was surprised to see this study take such a prominent place on FRC’s webpage. It was my understanding that the organization had kept it shoddy research in the background in lieu of portraying itself and other groups like it as so-called victims of an “aggressive gay agenda.

To paraphrase the hackneyed question about “buying a used car,” I have to ask “would you trust any tale of anti-Christian persecution coming from any organization which employs these two guys?”

The Family Research Council has come out with a nauseatingly self-congratulatory video showcasing how the organization supposedly stands up for American values and the family.

Conservatives and the religious right are under the sad impression that they have found of story of anti-Christian discrimination in the military so juicy that the Family Research Council, the Liberty Counsel, entities of Fox News, and even Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association are teaming up to talk about it.

FRC continued to list Carson’s many accolades, but the organization noticeably forgot to mention the incident which killed his so-called presidential aspirations before they began, i.e. when he compared gays to pedophiles and those who practice bestiality:
