Family Research Council Learns Lesson About Pride on Eve of Values Voter Summit

By: Thursday September 25, 2014 3:40 pm

Wednesday morning, several progressive groups including the NAACP, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and People for the American Way published an open letter in the Washington Post and The Hill calling out the Republican Party for its allegiance to anti-gay groups such as the Family Research Council and for the decision of several Republicans to attend that organization’s upcoming Values Voter Summit.

Later that night, in a show of unbelievable stupidity, the Family Research Council took the bait by answering the letter via email with a bit of bravado and a lot of lies

By: Thursday July 31, 2014 1:35 pm

This newest tripe, I mean action alert by the Family Research Council has gotten me a bit angry. The organization is pushing a bill which could allow adoption agencies and foster care providers to engage in anti-gay discrimination under the guise of religious freedom.

Women Taking Control of Their Reproductive Health, Pre-Hobby Lobby Edition

By: Saturday June 28, 2014 9:32 am

Next week, SCOTUS is expected to rule on the Hobby Lobby case, challenging the requirement that private employers that provide insurance to their employees must include contraceptives in the list of services covered with no co-pay. While legal scholars have been watching to see how this decision plays out, women have been taking action, demonstrating their desire to control their own reproductive lives. HHS just released a report showing a very positive picture of women using the provisions of ACA to deal with their reproductive choices, and Erica Hellerstein at The Atlantic painted a more disturbing picture of an underground DIY approach as safe and legal access to abortion is limited or eliminated.

One way or another, women will make their own decisions.

The Family Research Council Is Attacking The Southern Poverty Law Center Again

By: Sunday March 16, 2014 12:00 pm

It’s not farfetched to say that the Family Research Council doesn’t give a damn about the safety of Hawaiian students. Nor does the organization care about anything else but “settling the score” against the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Family Research Council Smears Judge for Decision in Bakery Lawsuit

By: Saturday December 14, 2013 11:45 am

I could have sworn that one of the 10 commandments was “thou shalt not bear false witness.”

Perhaps the Family Research Council has special permission from God to ignore this commandment.

Family Research Council Relying on an Outdated, Flawed Study to Smear LGBT Couples

By: Thursday November 21, 2013 7:08 pm

I was surprised to see this study take such a prominent place on FRC’s webpage. It was my understanding that the organization had kept it shoddy research in the background in lieu of portraying itself and other groups like it as so-called victims of an “aggressive gay agenda.

Comedy Alert – Family Research Council Defends The American Family Association From Charges of Being a Hate Group

By: Tuesday October 15, 2013 6:30 pm

To paraphrase the hackneyed question about “buying a used car,” I have to ask “would you trust any tale of anti-Christian persecution coming from any organization which employs these two guys?”

Family Research Council Puts Out Ridiculous Self-Congratulatory Video

By: Wednesday October 2, 2013 12:19 pm

The Family Research Council has come out with a nauseatingly self-congratulatory video showcasing how the organization supposedly stands up for American values and the family.

Religious Right Pushing a False Story About Anti-Christian Persecution in the Air Force

By: Monday September 16, 2013 11:25 am

Conservatives and the religious right are under the sad impression that they have found of story of anti-Christian discrimination in the military so juicy that the Family Research Council, the Liberty Counsel, entities of Fox News, and even Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association are teaming up to talk about it.
