Right-wingers love to complain about anti-discrimination laws that protect women, minorities and homosexuals, and they also love to bitch and moan about how hard it is to fire teachers. So this makes perfect sense.

To judge by his column in today’s Washington Post, Michael Gerson demonstrates a surprisingly poor grasp of the evangelical world. To say (as Gerson does) that evangelicals fear big government is laughable. They love big government — as long as they get to run it.

Sumner argues that the set of erroneous beliefs to which most of us cling includes our sense of what Darwin’s own Darwinism actually asserts.

Stephen Colbert once joked that “reality has a well-known liberal bias.” Unfortunately, there’s a loophole: No one experiences anything but the most immediate reality directly. There’s always some kind of filter in between, whether it be word-of-mouth, newspaper, radio, or television. And whoever controls those filters, essentially controls the reality of everyone who uses them.

Yesterday, Bob Kerrey got off a pretty good zinger about Scott Brown, but it really made Pantload and K-Lo very angry.
