The Delusions of Crowds

By: Thursday March 21, 2013 8:00 pm

From the moment the Supreme Court installed George W. Bush as President, it was laughably evident that America was being systematically looted down to the last can of Who-hash, but until Sept. 11, we didn’t realize that the rest of the planet was next.  A distracted twelve year old watching the Axis of Evil speech could have seen that something was dreadfully amiss, and yet the pancaked halfwits “covering” it for us acted as though that surreal charade was perfectly normal.

Long before Andy Card mansplained that “from a marketing standpoint, you don’t roll out new products in August,” what was painfully obvious was that the Iraq War was being waged for several quite tangible reasons that were widely reported at the time.

Hillary Clinton steps forward and takes the blame for the blown-completely-out-of-proportion events in Benghazi:

Condi Rice Claims US Was at War When She Ignored August 6, 2001 PDB

By: Monday May 9, 2011 12:30 pm

Condi Rice is, of all Bush’s top aides, the best at managing her reputation. Which is why her interview with Fareed Zakaria yesterday is so interesting.

Sure, there are some examples of Condi’s signature lies, such as when she claims the dedicated group to hunt Osama bin Laden–which was shut down between 2005 and 2009, after which Obama re-instituted it–proves the Bush Administration’s focus on capturing OBL. More interesting, though, is Condi’s confusion about how many Presidents have hunted OBL.

The MSM’s Gift to Moms? The Mushroom Cloud Brigade

By: Sunday May 8, 2011 7:41 am

To celebrate Mothers Day, the Sunday shows have brought you the Mushroom Cloud Brigade–Condi Rice, Rummy, and Dick Cheney–the three people who, on September 8, 2002 used the Sunday shows to trumpet the intelligence they had laundered through Judy Miller to lie us into war against Iraq.

How Did the Bush Administration and the Village Get Duped by Gaddafi?

By: Sunday March 20, 2011 12:20 pm

Seems like only yesterday when Condi was playing footsie with Moammar in Tripoli, while Faux News covered her visit triumphantly.

Egyptian VP Suleiman Promised US the 2006 Gaza Election Wouldn’t Happen

By: Monday February 7, 2011 2:55 pm

How could the State Department have been so stupid as not to see that Hamas would win a democratic election in Gaza in 2006? Maybe a certain Egyptian told them not to worry about it.

The Palestine Papers – In Which We Learn No One Speaks for the Palestinians

By: Monday January 24, 2011 7:15 pm

Yesterday, as Israel prepared to launch a PR campaign to support their self-investigation of the Mavi Mamara, Al Jazeera released the first of 1700 leaked documents telling us what has really been going on during the “Israeli Palestinian peace talks.” As one commentator has said, “they blow the cover off the secret negotiations.” Al Jazeera has shared the documents with the Guardian, where comments note that Israel’s persistent claim to not have a “partner for peace” can no longer be given any credibility.

Condi and Khalid El-Masri: Perhaps We’re Not the Ones to Teach Afghans Rule of Law?

By: Tuesday November 30, 2010 8:30 am

I chuckled to myself when I read Steven Aftergood’s post on our efforts to instill rule of law in Afghanistan. Not that I don’t support the goal, mind you. But I question whether the United States is in a position anymore to be teaching others about rule of law.

Why Isn’t Obama Clearing Brush on PDB Day?

By: Friday August 6, 2010 8:00 am

Nine years ago today, George W Bush was informed that “Al Qaeda [was] determined to strike in US.”

And then he went out to clear more brush at his pig farm in Crawford.

All the News NYT Does Not See Fit to Print

By: Sunday June 7, 2009 9:00 am

The NYT got a handful of emails that made it clear that Jim Comey had attempted to dissuade the Bush Administration from torture. But instead, it reported that he had approved of torture. Here’s the other stuff the NYT doesn’t seem fit to tell you about Comey’s emails.
