Watching MSNBC last night, I was as surprised as I was delighted to see that in the wake of NBC News’ revelations about Obama’s drone-killing program, the indefensible policy was being directly confronted, and harshly, even by those often afflicted with the Obamabot disease. 

It does look increasingly likely that the Secessionist is going to jump in the race. Willard no longer looks inevitable with Bachmann surging — and the GOP sugar daddies absolutely don’t want Bachmann to be the nominee. And the way the Faux News crowd is gushing — you can tell they’re just itching for the Secessionist to give it a run.

Predictable and bland, Charles Krauthammer claims that Democrats are trying to appease Labor. All I can say is that I wish that were the case!

Those sensitive, shrinking violets on the right took a day off from their racist dog whistles and comparing Barack Obama to murderous tyrants to whine about their hurt fee-fees.

The great identity problem the right seems to be having at the moment is not about whether they are complicit in these particular murders, but whether it’s plausible they could have been. That’s especially true since Glenn Beck has rhetorically encouraged violence against groups and individuals, and, as Media Matters’ David Brock points out, some nut has followed up. It’s not whether people like that knowingly stoked Loughner’s particular incoherence, delusion and detachment from reality but whether far too many of them have exhibited the same dangerous fantasies and eliminationist tendencies in their own statements and writings.

The conservative/Republican version of Orwell’s Ministry of “Truth” is at it again, hijacking and corrupting yet another set of words — this time it’s “blood libel.”

Have you heard about the “EPA Power Grab”? This one’s a whopper, a pernicious, flat out lie so big, so harmful, and so wrapped in hysteria it’s no wonder there are conservative heads exploding all over the right wing propaganda Wurlitzer.

America’s fifth most influential liberal journalist Fred Hiatt doesn’t have enough to do these days having delegated most of his editorial responsibilities to sensible classical liberals like Charles Krauthammer, Michael Gerson, Marc Thiessen, Jennifer Rubin, Robert Kagan, Robert Samuelson, Kathleen Parker, and George Will. So today he thought he would try his hand at movie reviewing but, alas, he hasn’t grasped the differences between “drama” and “documentary”.
