Fifty-two thousand children have fled their homes in countries in Central America and journeyed to the United States. Some of them came with their families and the vast majority of them are now being put through a deportation regime, which President Barack Obama’s administration is committing resources to expediting so they will be sent back to the countries they fled.

Tens of thousands of children from Central American countries are crossing the United States-Mexico border. They are being apprehended and processed into America’s immigration system. And, according to President Barack Obama, the answer to this crisis is to send a message to children and their parents that they should not be sending their kids to America and ship them back home.

While the over trillion dollars the United States has already spent on our four decade long war on drugs has totally failed to achieve anything, I’m sure throwing another $40 million of good money after bad will be the tipping point that wins the war.
