The voters of Nevada legalized medical marijuana back in 2000 but there has never been an easy legal way for patients to access it besides growing their own. That will soon change.


Republican Governor of New Mexico Plans to Expand Medicaid

When the Supreme Court declared the Medicaid expansion under the ACA optional the big question was: would any Republican dare reject such a “good deal?” Now that almost half a dozen Republican governors have publicly declared their decision not to take part, the question has instead become: will any Republican governors dare buck the party by accepting it?

Martinez is only the second GOP governor to decide to take part. The other is Nevada’s Governor Brian Sandoval who announced his intent to expand Medicaid late last year.

In the race to be the next governor of Nevada, Republican Brian Sandoval continues to maintain a solid double-digit lead over his Democratic opponent, Rory Reid, son of Democratic Senate leader Harry, according to a new Mason-Dixon poll for “Las Vegas Review-Journal.”

In his own race to retain his Senate seat, it appears Majority Leader (and Rory’s dad) Harry Reid’s recent surge in the polls is mainly due to GOP rival Sharron Angle’s gaffes, and it’s not translating into a statewide movement toward Democrats. Rory Reid is suffering from a serious favorability problem.
