Washington has a spending problem – it keeps spending money on the F-35. A weapon that not only doesn’t work but isn’t needed. In a time of austerity for social programs with President Obama offering cuts to Social Security and Medicare the government continues to shovel money into this black hole of a weapons project.

It’s interesting to see conservative efforts to mimic public works and infrastructure: They’re inevitably generally inferior to and do a worse job than the public works they emulate, and their main activities seem to be engaging in outright fraud and scammery, as well as manipulating the racist fears of their chosen white marks in order to separate them from their tax money, and so leave less and less money for the legitimate public institutions being badly imitated.

As it is with charter schools, so it is with the boondoggle called “Personal Rapid Transit”, or PRT for short.

In short, TSA rushed these things into operation without any evidence that they actually work, or what the impact would be of their new heightened “security” measures. Now, according to the 2011 Homeland Security appropriations request, TSA Chief John Pistole wants money for 500 more porno scanners.
