AR-Sen: Long Lines and Delays at Garland County’s Two Polling Places

By: Michael Whitney Tuesday June 8, 2010 11:57 am

After Garland County, Arkansas closed 40 of its 42 polling places for today’s runoff election, voters who wanted to vote early were turned away all week. Now, on Election Day, the full extent of the county’s boneheaded decision to make it more difficult for residents to vote is coming to bear with “long lines and parking problems.”

In the Home Stretch, Clueless Blanche Lincoln Brags about Shrinking the Stimulus

By: Blue Texan Tuesday June 8, 2010 10:30 am

Hey, Blanche kicked off her campaign by doing a little dance on the grave of the public option, so at least she’s consistent.

NYT Celebrates Primary Day With a Halter Hit Piece

By: Jane Hamsher Tuesday June 8, 2010 9:55 am

It’s hard to know whether the New York Time’s content or the timing of the piece are more suspect, but appearing as it does on a hotly contested election day it does not rise to the level of responsible journalism.

Tapp Lied: Garland County AR Polls NOT Opened

By: Phoenix Woman Saturday June 5, 2010 12:45 pm

AR-Sen: Halter Maintains Lead, Lincoln Running Out of Options

By: David Dayen Friday June 4, 2010 3:10 pm

Bill Halter has maintained a narrow lead over Blanche Lincoln in the R2K/Daily Kos poll, shockingly one of the only pollsters surveying the runoff election. I find it puzzling that almost nobody polled this race leading up to the primary election, and nobody’s wading into it now. It’s a tough race to poll, because there are no restrictions on primary voters, making it tough to model the electorate. However, to vote in the runoff you had to have either voted in the primary on the Democratic side or not voted, cutting out everyone who voted in the Republican primary and at least narrowing things down a bit. Markos says that Halter has kept his lead, but turnout will be the key.

AR Sen: Lincoln Ads Again Act Like FinReg Signed into Law

By: David Dayen Tuesday June 1, 2010 1:55 pm

Lincoln’s phoniness on derivatives is the key point of the campaign, IMO. She’s wearing this bill as a badge of honor, when she couldn’t even defend her own proposal to her colleagues, and chose not to defend it on the floor of the Senate, when Maria Cantwell tried to close a massive loophole inserted into the language.
