The grotesque spectacle of the two-hour torture yesterday of an Arizona murderer was made considerably more revolting by the bloodthirsty commentary provided by the victim’s family, and eagerly echoed by Arizona officials.
You see, no matter how barbaric the execution was, the crime was worse, so who cares? Really? Something now popularly called “closure” for the victims’ loved ones, i.e. a retributive display of frontier justice, is now required by the public (and the media), supposedly to avenge the crime.

When President Bill Clinton vetoed anti-leaks provision in 2000 that would have made nearly all unauthorized disclosures of information by officials a felony, he warned of a “serious risk that this legislation” would have “a chilling effect on those who engage in legitimate activities.” But a draft signing statement released by the Clinton Library this month show how he would have defended the legislation if he had decided to sign it into law.

On November 20th, 1996, Rahm Emanuel had an idea. Amidst the joy of the re-election of his friend and mentor, President Bill Clinton, Emanuel saw an opportunity for the president to help the Democratic Party maintain a perceived “parity” with the GOP on crime – record deportations. The revelation is contained in recently released documents from the Clinton Library after 12 years of being concealed.

Bill Clinton is the epitome of what is wrong with this country. He was the deregulator-in-chief, he is the PRIMARY cause, as the instigator who mid-wifed the destruction of mass protections afforded the American people through Glass-Stegall. Yet, Slick Willy points the accusing finger at others holding himself blameless. The precursor to Lybia, Syria, Iraq was Clinton’s “Bosnia Bombing ” of a group of people in which our national security interests were not an issue. This opened the flood gates of intervention mischief. Making war, not to defend yourself, but to force your will on others by military force. Then supports the Iraq invasion, yet, Slick willy points the accusing finger at others and holds himself blameless.(video) corporate welfare?

If you write a law that is so needlessly complex not even a super genius could implement it correctly, you have failed as a legislator.

The other night I was out with some friends and one of them commented on obesity and how “slothful” people had become, how it was a blight on communities and destroying the lives of people young and old. This developed into a discussion on the economics of food and the lack of exercise in school. FED UP, directed by tonight’s guest Stephanie Soechtig, shows us that the global obesity epidemic actually stems from our very human addiction to a simple substance: sugar.

Obama knows, as did Clinton before him, that his only option in even serving out a second term is to serially cave to Republicans on matters big and small, which coincidentally makes a lot of the right people very happy.

Now that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has been severely damaged by the Bridgegate scandal, Republicans on Wall Street are desperately searching for a candidate they can count on to do their bidding in 2016. With a distrust for Senator Ted Cruz or Senator Rand Paul to follow orders, some are hoping former Florida Governor Jeb Bush might step into the race.
But Bush fatigue may have even reached Manhattan as Wall Street Republicans eye another candidate to invest in, Hillary Clinton.
