It’s nice to see a bigot get a taste of his own medicine. As you may have heard, the “don’t say gay bill” legislator in Tennessee, State Senator Stacey Campfield, was booted out of a restaurant in Knoxville, The Bistro at the Bijou, by the owner for his recent remarks about gays and the origin of AIDS.

The tiny minds of the flaccid stakeholders in the movement to control wombs and demonize the LGBT community are trying to agree upon which Clown in the GOP Clown Car to unite behind to take out Mittens.
If you follow the professional bigot brigade, the some of the 150 or so attendees at this event are familiar to you

Friend of the Blend, Joe Murray, a former staff attorney for the American Family Association, has written a sizzling op-ed in the Des Moines Register addressing the Wildmon family hate machine’s participation in the 2012 GOP Clown Car endorsement game.
African-American Pastor Rebukes NOM’s Anti-Gay Bigotry |
| By: Scott Rose Tuesday November 29, 2011 9:15 am |
Jennifer Roback Morse of the NOM’s Ruth Institute — (an anti-gay hate speech propaganda factory) — took malicious aim at a Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services publicity campaign to promote awareness among gay people that they may foster and/or adopt children in need of homes, RaiseAChild.us. But an African American pastor rebuked her.
Iowa Bigot Baker Victoria Childress Broke The Law; Couple Responds |
| By: Scott Rose Sunday November 20, 2011 12:55 pm |
Recently, Victoria Childress of Victoria’s Cake Cottage in Des Moines, Iowa refused to provide her professional services to a lesbian couple.
The couple had already invested time in communications with Childress, and Childress had them come to her business premises for a tasting. Only at the tasting did she realize that the customers were lesbian. On the grounds that her “Christian” beliefs don’t permit her to bake a cake for a same sex wedding, she refused to proceed with the tasting.

When I saw the headline over at Facing South, I had no idea that the nativist batsh*ttery has run off the rails into complete batsh*ttery.

| By: Alvin McEwen Saturday September 24, 2011 5:00 pm |
As many of you have probably heard, Maggie Gallagher has stepped down as chair of the National Organization for Marriage.
Details are extremely sketchy, but NOM has put on a brave face on the announcement by giving accolades to Gallagher and introducing, with much fanfare, her replacement – law professor and tea party favorite, John Eastman.

So simple a concept – but the numnut Republicans in my legislature fail to understand it because they are bathed in homophobia.
Kate and I celebrated the 7th anniversary of our legal marriage in 2011. Thank you, Vancouver, B.C. We flew back home to NC, where our union is not recognized by my state, and won’t be until the U.S. Supreme Court does away with this institutionalized bigotry.
