Zenophobia is ugly and it produces irrational behavior toward fellow beings, too often with tragic consequences. Out leaders would serve their countries better by inspiring us toward better behavior instead of falling in with the goose steppers that thrive on bad feelings and the rabble they produce.

Arch pundit Stephen Colbert is scheduled to appear before the House Judiciary Committee’s immigration subcommittee on Friday September 24 to discuss his experience picking fruit as part of the United Farm Workers Take Our Jobs program, which invites U.S. citizens and legal residents to replace tens of thousands of immigrant field laborers, most of whom are undocumented. Conservatives are outraged, naturally.

Tonight’s filmmaker Danielle Agnello comes to us with two films, her first feature Lime Salted Love, a dark surreal look at loneliness and the things we do to avoid it and the dark secrets that got us there; and her just completed short Cowboys and Indians: The Great Diversion which shows up anti-immigrationists as morans.

Lime Salted Love was written and co-directed by Danielle who also co-stars in the film. It’s tragedy of love and secrets, very different from Cowboys and Indians which shows the idiocy of Tea Party/Minutemen types with their own words.
