Herman Cain has managed to turn sexual harassment allegations from the 90s into a current credibility crisis over his often changing explanations and denials. This seems another case of the coverup doing more damage than the original allegations.

Incredibly, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is launching a half-million dollar ad buy into New York City with one weekend to go until a special House election in NY-09, the seat once held by Anthony Weiner. That half a million dollars would have come in very handy next year, when Democrats make a push to take back the House, no? Instead, it’s being chewed up in the expensive New York City media market to protect a bad candidate whose district will probably get chopped up in redistricting anyway.

I’ve done my best to remain blissfully unaware of what it is Rep. Anthony Weiner did to get himself in political trouble. But I did note that as soon as the controversy, um, revealed itself, wise voices pointed out a simple way for Weiner to avoid having to leave office as a result — simply, refuse to resign.

Alec Baldwin is rumored to be eyeing Gracie Manor in a starring role as mayor of New York City in 2013 election. Congressman Anthony Weiner had been favored as the Democratic candidate to replace Michael Bloomberg, who will face term limits in in 2013. Sadly, multiple online philanderings may have shafted Weiner’s dreams. Baldwin, the star of NBC’s 30 Rock, has said he will retire from show business in 2012.

Weiner: Wasn’t hacked. Sent the tweet out, panicked and said he was hacked. Has had text and phone relationships with six women, some before but some after his marriage. No physical relationship.

I dunno why so many people are acting so weird about that picture that wound up on Mr. Weiner’s Bookfaced site or Witter or whatever it was. Funny, when Mr. Vitter’s nanny talked about how he still wuvvvs wearing diapers, the WaPo didn’t invite Chris Lehane to spend a few hours talking to people online about it.
